Polish Construction Companies 2025 – Deloitte event
Participation in the event “Polish Construction Companies 2025 – key players, growth drivers and development prospects of the industry,” organized by Deloitte, provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the current state of the sector with distinguished guests. The NDI Group was represented during the panel discussion by Szymon Reptowski, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
The Polish construction sector is preparing for a surge of infrastructure projects and potentially the largest growth in this area in the history of the Polish economy. Large companies undoubtedly play a significant role here and hold a strong market position. The goal of companies with Polish capital and aligned with Poland’s economic interests, such as the NDI Group, is to build long-term competencies in order to rank among the leading contractors in the coming years. Equal conditions in tender procedures and genuine market competitiveness are key.
– By promoting ‘Polishness,’ we mean the actual—not merely formal—implementation of public procurement law provisions. At the same time, I want to emphasize that we do not intend to challenge or change the existing legal framework, nor do we expect any preferential treatment. We simply want equal opportunities in access to tenders on the Polish market. Currently, we often cannot obtain additional evaluation points in bids, which places us at a disadvantage from the outset. Moreover, excessively stringent and inadequate baseline requirements frequently exclude Polish entities while favouring companies that are part of international corporations. In other words, it is essential not to exclude Polish companies from projects at the very beginning—projects that could serve as a springboard for their growth and a driving force for the economy in the coming decades. NDI’s 35 years on the market demonstrate that Polish companies are capable of delivering large, unique, and demanding projects – said Szymon Reptowski.
An important topic was also the “Polonization” of the market, understood as strengthening the domestic base of general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. This is a process that requires stable rules, efficient administration, and financial institutions adequately engaged in line with investment plans. At the same time, the experience of companies that have operated in Poland for years—regardless of their capital structure—remains an important factor in the development of the sector.
The coming years will bring many interesting yet demanding investments in Poland, particularly in the context of the development of Port Polska. This represents a major opportunity for Polish companies that think long-term and consistently build their position, capital, and track record.
– At NDI, we are developing digital support for business and project execution processes, including the BIM methodology, which facilitates and automates work. We continuously improve. At the same time, we are aware that ultimately the key role on construction sites is played by the engineer—their experience and competencies – added Szymon Reptowski.
