We will build a training centre for HEMS pilots and crews in Warsaw

At the Warsaw-Babice airport in the Bemowo district, a new flight simulator building will be built as part of the existing training centre for pilots and crew members of the Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopters. The investment project includes the delivery of a full flight simulator (FFS – Full Flight Simulator) level D for the EC 135 P3 helicopter and the P2+ version, the construction of a new training centre building and the renovation of the existing FTD (Flight Training Device) simulator hall. The project will be carried out in the „Design and Build” formula by a consortium consisting of NDI S.A., NDI SOPOT S.A. and INDRA Sistemas S.A.

The project aims to expand the existing training centre by creating modern infrastructure for an advanced flight simulator that will enable the training of helicopter pilots and crews in conditions as close to real life as possible. Thanks to the use of modern simulation technologies, it will be possible to improve qualifications and increase the level of safety in aviation.

The investment project will include a four-story building with space planned for a Full Flight Simulator (FFS), Level D, as well as training rooms, including rooms necessary for conducting exams and operating the centre. Land development and the construction of the required technical infrastructure will also be an important element of the project.

The consortium of NDI S.A., NDI SOPOT S.A. and INDRA Sistemas S.A. is responsible for the implementation of the project, with INDRA Sistemas S.A. providing a Full Flight Simulator (FFS) level D flight simulator, which will be placed in the new hall. INDRA Sistemas S.A. will also participate in the certification of the flight simulator.

The building will be 21 m high and will have four above-ground floors. The building area will be 1,067 m², and the total area will be approximately 2,500 m². The facility is designed to be spacious and functional, and its walls will be approximately 28 to 38 m long.

At this stage, design work is underway. Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2026, with completion expected a year later. The project is a significant step in the development of modern aviation training infrastructure and will strengthen Warsaw’s potential as a major training centre for HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) pilots and crews. The investor of the construction is the Polish Medical Air Rescue.

The investment project is carried out under Project No. FENX.06.01-IP.03-0001/24 entitled „Purchase and installation of a helicopter flight simulation device of the FFS (Full Flight Simulator) Level D class together with the construction of training facilities for the operational staff of the Polish Air Rescue Service” under the measure FENX.06.01 Healthcare system, priority FENX.06. Health, European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027 Programme.
