Krakow focuses on recycling. The NDI Group will build a Selective Waste Collection Station
The new investment in Krakow, i.e. the Municipal Selective Waste Collection Station, is part of a larger project – the Municipal Waste Recycling Centre, implemented on the site of the former T. Sendzimir Steelworks. The NDI Group is responsible for the construction and has just signed a contract with the investor, Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Oczyszczania (Municipal Cleaning Company) in Krakow.
The new Municipal Selective Waste Collection Station is the next stage in the city’s municipal waste management strategy. The project will be built on a plot of land belonging to the Municipal Cleaning Company in Krakow and will include not only the construction of the main facility, but also all the external infrastructure necessary for its operation. The investment will be built on an industrial site that has been significantly altered by previous use, which means that the works will be carried out in challenging ground conditions.
The facility will be over 120 m long, nearly 16 m wide and will reach a height of approximately 11.5 m. The total area of the investment will be almost 4,000 m², of which over 3,300 m² will be usable space. The NDI Group is responsible for both the preparation of technical designs and the comprehensive execution of construction works: from earthworks and reinforced concrete works, through the assembly of steel structures and metalwork, to finishing works, installations, land development and container equipment.
Thanks to this investment, Krakow will gain a modern and functional facility that will make it easier for residents to sort waste and help them take better care of the environment. For the NDI Group, this is further confirmation of the city’s trust and a strengthening of its position as a reliable partner. In October last year, new facilities of the Plastic Recycling Plant were put into operation, which the NDI Group completed on a ‘design and build’ basis, also for the Municipal Cleaning Company in Krakow. Both facilities are part of the Municipal Waste Recycling Centre. Completion of the work is planned for spring 2026.
