S6 expressway. Progress of works on the road with concrete surface
The construction of the S6 expressway section between Słupsk and Bobrowniki is progressing according to plan. NDI Group has already completed most of the work, and the concrete surface of the main route is mostly ready. The investment project will soon connect the region with a modern, safe and comfortable road.
More than 16 kilometres of expressway between the junction in Redzikowo and the junction in Bobrowniki are being constructed. The section is located in the Pomorskie Voivodeship, in the communes of Słupsk and Damnica.
Currently, works are progressing according to plan. A significant part of the works has already been completed, so the total progress of work is approximately 75%. On the main route, the workers are continuing the laying of the concrete surface, which will ensure long-term resistance to rutting (the formation of ruts in the road surface under the pressure of vehicle wheels) and high driving comfort, i.e. a road with the highest quality and safety standards.
In parallel, work is being carried out at two road junctions, Budy and Bobrowniki, which will improve local communication and enable safe merging with traffic on the expressway. The system of access, cross and service roads is also being expanded, which will ensure service to adjacent areas and access to the necessary technical infrastructure. The investment project also includes the construction of two Passenger Service Areas (PSAs), namely Paprzyce Północ and Paprzyce Południe, which were designed with the comfort and safety of drivers in mind.
In terms of engineering facilities, the progress of work is visible on most investment projects. One of the key elements of the project is the 245 m long ES-22 overpass over the Łupawa River valley, constructed with respect for the natural environment in the Natura 2000 area. At the same time, finishing works are being carried out on the remaining overpasses and animal crossings, and installation of anti-glare screens and energy-absorbing barriers is ongoing.
Progress is also visible in the building structure part. In the area of the Road Maintenance District in Budy, all facilities have reached a closed shell state. Installation and finishing works are currently underway. Foundation work has been completed at the Passenger Service Areas and construction of sanitary buildings and parking lots continues.
Further laying of the concrete surface, installation of barriers and traffic safety elements are planned in the coming weeks. Tidying up the area and preparing areas for greenery planting will also begin. The investment project will soon take its final shape, with a modern traffic management system, energy-efficient LED lighting and full technical infrastructure.
The construction of the S6 expressway is a project of strategic importance for the region. Ultimately, together with other sections under construction, this road is to connect Szczecin with the Tricity. The investment project will shorten travel times, improve safety and increase transport accessibility. The investment cost is almost PLN 550 million.
The investor is the Gdańsk branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
