New swimming pool complex taking shape in Białołęka
The construction of a state-of-the-art swimming pool complex at Ostródzka Street in Warsaw is progressing according to schedule. The delivery of the building’s underground section, complete with the basement plant room beneath the pools and foundations, has been concluded, and advanced structural works are currently underway on the above-ground part of the facility.
The emerging complex will be one of the most modern sports and recreation facilities in Warsaw’s Białołęka district. The building, with a usable floor area of approximately 4,900 m2 and a cubic volume exceeding 50,000 m3, is planned to feature a 25-metre sports pool with eight swimming lanes, a grandstand for around 150 spectators, a leisure pool and a children’s paddling pool.
‘We have already completed the delivery of the building’s underground section. We executed the entire basement plant room beneath the pools – which serves as the underground technical space – as well as all foundations of the main building. Currently, we are delivering the above-ground section. Works on the ground floor structure are already at a very advanced stage. We have also commenced the installation of precast floor slabs over the ground floor,’ says Marcin Tryka, Project Director at NDI Group.
At the same time, preparatory works are launching for the installation of glued laminated timber (glulam) roof girders, which will form the framework of the facility’s roof. Works related to the execution of external drainage networks are also being carried out on the grounds surrounding the building.
The complex will also be equipped with a swimming instruction area, a relaxation zone featuring three jacuzzi tubs, and a sauna zone designed as a space separating the sports and leisure areas. The facility will be further complemented by additional water attractions and solutions enhancing user comfort.
According to the adopted schedule, the entire structure of the new swimming pool is to be completed by the end of September this year. The building envelope is planned to be fully enclosed by the end of December, with finishing works scheduled to commence at the beginning of next year.
The investor is the Capital City of Warsaw – Białołęka District, and the General Contractor is the NDI Group.
