The new hall is already open. Construction progress at the AMBEREXPO complex in Gdańsk
The investment project on Żaglowa Street for Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie (Gdańsk International Fair) is underway. To date, the construction of part of the hall and the warehouse and support building has been completed, and they were handed over for use in September this year. The facilities are already being used to organise large trade fair events. The work is proceeding according to schedule, and the completion of the entire project, including the hotel, is planned for the third quarter of 2026.
The investor MTG used the new hall to host two major events, namely the TRAKO and Baltexpo trade fairs. ‘As far as the part of the hall that has been put into use is concerned, there is much to be proud of, because the facility has been equipped with many systems and designed in such a way as to offer great diversity and the possibility of modification, thus meeting the client’s requirements in terms of trade fair arrangements, including stage technology,’ pointed out Dominik Kardynał, Construction Manager at the NDI Group.
In addition, technical ducts have been installed to enable the connection of various boxes and arrangements in this regard. All stage technology is available, allowing for the arrangement of suspensions and lighting, which enables the implementation of all kinds of projects in the field of films, exhibitions and theatrical events. The building has been heavily soundproofed, which was also a challenge during construction. ‘We worked with heavy elements, acoustic equipment and other systems, which ultimately allow all installations to work together,’ added the construction manager.
The entrance area and hotel section still remain to be completed as part of this investment – two storeys are still needed to finish the structure. This part is expected to be finalised in the summer of next year. During this time, the commissioning of systems and handover of the facility to the client are also planned. There are also plans to connect the hotel section to the existing hall building by means of a mezzanine and a corridor. The work is proceeding according to schedule, and the NDI team’s goal is to complete as much of the work as possible before winter in order to properly secure the building.
The project began in December last year and is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026, which will enable the entire facility to be put into full operation.
