S6 express road in the Pomeranian Voivodeship opened to traffic
We have completed the delivery of an over 16-kilometre section of the S6 express road between the Redzikowo and Bobrowniki junctions, located within the Słupsk and Damnica municipalities. Following the completion of all construction works and the execution of the required handovers, the new route has been opened to traffic.
As part of the investment project, a dual carriageway express road has been constructed, featuring two traffic lanes in each direction along with hard shoulders. We have also built two road junctions – Budy and Bobrowniki – which will improve local connectivity and ensure safe access to the express route. Furthermore, the network of feeder, transverse and service roads has been expanded.
The project involved the construction of two motorway service areas (MSAs), Paprzyce Północ (North) and Paprzyce Południe (South), as well as an express road maintenance depot located next to the Budy junction. One of the key elements of the investment is the 245-metre-long ES-22 flyover spanning the Łupawa River valley. The structure was executed with full respect for the natural environment within a Natura 2000 protected area. A number of environmental protection solutions have also been implemented along the route. These include wildlife crossings, ecological culverts, protective and guiding fences, green plantings, as well as measures limiting the road’s impact on the surroundings, such as anti-glare screens and acoustic barriers.
The construction of the S6 express road is an investment project of strategic importance for Pomerania. Ultimately, together with the other completed sections, the route will connect Szczecin with the Tricity, contributing to shorter travel times, improved road safety and increased transport accessibility in northern Poland. The value of the investment amounted to nearly 550 million PLN. The investor for the project is the Gdańsk branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), and the General Contractor is the NDI Group.
