PGZ Naval Shipyard – expansion of halls, roads and security system
Another investment is underway at the PGZ Naval Shipyard in Gdynia. Modern buildings are being built and the existing infrastructure will be thoroughly rebuilt. The project includes both the expansion of storage space and the improvement of the safety and functionality of the shipyard areas. The General Contractor is the NDI Group.
One of the key elements of the investment project is the construction of a new warehouse hall. Additionally, a shelter for technical gases will be built on the plant premises, which will improve the conditions for storing specialist substances. An important point of the implementation is also the adaptation of part of the A-36 building into a modern guardhouse with a covered entrance gate. The project also involves the renovation of one of the existing buildings and the expansion of the CCTV monitoring system.
– We are currently implementing a project for the Contracting Authority to reconstruct the entire system of above-ground and underground infrastructure. Within the same task, we are also rebuilding the existing halls used for shipbuilding – says Przemysław Młynarczyk, Construction Manager at the NDI Group. – The main challenge is, above all, the short deadline, but we are doing everything we can to cope with it, including working in three shifts. A typical construction challenge is posed by the old underground utilities, but also working on the premises of an active plant where production is still ongoing. We organize the work in such a way that the plant can carry out its tasks without any problems. The deadline for completing our work is fall this year. The project is approximately 45% complete and we have no delays against the schedule – adds the Construction Manager.
In addition to construction works, a significant element will also be the comprehensive reconstruction of the road system and technical infrastructure, including new storage yards and internal roads, and the total area will be approximately 31,000 m2.
– We have been on the premises of PGZ Naval Shipyard as the General Contractor for over two years. We are glad that we can implement another project of such importance for the defence of our country – summarizes Przemysław Młynarczyk.
All facilities will be equipped with modern sanitary, electrical and telecommunications system to ensure the best functionality. The planned investment project implementation time is a total of 12 months.
The modernization will significantly improve the organization of transport and logistics within the shipyard. The investor is PGZ Naval Shipyard in Gdynia.
