Overhaul of the tram route on Aleja Wielkopolska is coming to an end

Works on the trackbed along Aleja Wielkopolska in Poznań is progressing according to plan. The final works are underway on the installation of tracks, the reconstruction of platforms at the Klin stop and the overhaul of the catenary network.

Last week, we hosted a group of students from the Poznań University of Technology at the construction site, and a day later, representatives from the Poznań City Hall, MPK and ZTM in Poznań. The guests were accompanied by the President of NDI Energy, Cezary Chruściński. Together they were able to observe the tamping machine in operation and get acquainted with the innovative technology for tram tracks, used for the first time in Poland on this type of track. This primarily involves the use of special Y-type steel sleepers that minimize interference with the root system of nearby trees, which is of particular importance for the historic horse chestnut alley located near the tracks.

– The work is progressing very smoothly. We are ahead of schedule, so I think that the exact date of the tram service return will be announced at the end of this month, when the network works will be completed, said Mariusz Wiśniewski, First Deputy Mayor of Poznań.

Once again, NDI Energy is actively participating in improving the quality of the local track and network infrastructure, and consequently improving the safety and comfort of passengers, with particular care for the environment.
