First football game at Arena Katowice

The new GKS Katowice stadium is officially open! The players ran onto the pitch for the first time, cheered on by thousands of fans. Thus, the NDI Group completed the implementation of one of the key sports investments in the Silesian Voivodeship.

The grand opening of the new GKS Katowice stadium at Nowa Bukowa Street is already history. The opening match, played between the teams of GKS Katowice and Górnik Zabrze, ended with a 2:1 victory for the hosts. The event gathered thousands of fans from across the region.

It was not only a sports celebration, but also a symbolic culmination of over 3 years of construction work.

The NDI Group, as the General Contractor, was responsible for the comprehensive implementation of the investment project, including the construction of a football stadium with stands for 15,000 people, a sports and entertainment hall for 3,000 spectators, a main square, two full-size training pitches and extensive accompanying infrastructure – roads, pavements and bicycle paths.

The new facility refers to the history of the club and its previous stadium on Bukowa Street. The residents of Katowice have gained a modern and vibrant sports and recreational space. The project investor was Katowickie Inwestycje SA.
