70% of the work has been completed. A modern education centre for students of the Medical University of Białystok is under construction
On the campus of the Medical University of Białystok, a modern Teaching and Examination Centre is being built, which will significantly increase the educational opportunities for medical students. Construction work is approximately 70% complete, and comprehensive installation and finishing works are already underway at the construction site.
The project involves the design and construction of the Teaching and Examination Centre of the Medical University of Białystok. The facility consists of two above-ground floors and one underground floor, intended for parking and technical facilities. The entire building has a volume of nearly 50,000 m³ and has been divided into three functional parts.
The western zone will include lecture halls equipped with advanced audiovisual systems and control rooms for recording classes and examinations. The upper floor houses twelve OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) rooms, replicating various hospital wards, with full medical equipment and control rooms with one-way mirrors. The central part houses the representative main entrance, a lobby with a reception desk, a cloakroom and a foyer illuminated by a large skylight. The eastern part features multifunctional seminar rooms, whose area can be adjusted thanks to the use of mobile walls.
The monolithic and prefabricated structures have now been completed, and the building is in the phase of intensive installation and finishing works.
Outside, road works are continuing and the ventilated aluminium panel façade is being finalised. The heat distribution system has also been commissioned, enabling internal works to be carried out during the winter.
– Currently, the work is about 70% complete. So far, three aspects have posed the greatest challenges. The first is the design work, in which we had to meet not only the expectations of the investor and users, but also the strict standards and rules of EU directives, due to the fact that the project is co-financed by the National Reconstruction Plan. Another aspect was and still is the coordination of works on an active medical campus, ending with the technical aspect and the need to use modern technologies, in particular a building management system and a globally expanded audio-visual system,’ explained Grzegorz Puczkowski, Project Manager at NDI Group.
In the coming months, the installation of specialised systems, commissioning, testing and training for future users will begin.
– ‘Our goal is to bring the facility to full functionality and hand it over to the client in accordance with the schedule, user requirements and while maintaining a good financial result. Cooperation with the investor is going very well, and I hope that this project will not only be a showcase for the Medical University of Białystok, but will also promote NDI in eastern Poland, which will soon result in further investments and projects carried out by NDI,’ concluded Grzegorz Puczkowski.
The completion of the investment will strengthen the university’s teaching facilities, enabling OSCE exams to be conducted at the highest level and classes to be taught using medical simulations. The general contractor for the work is the NDI Group. The investment is being financed by the National Reconstruction Plan (KPO).
