Reconstruction of the Indyjskie Quay

2022-2023
NDI is tasked with the reconstruction of the Indyjskie Quay over a length of approximately 540 m, consisting primarily of widening it by 6 m. The new quay wall will be made of anchored sheet piles and pipe piles. The project includes dismantling the quay’s hydraulic engineering structures, demolition of the reinforced concrete pile cap, the railway track and the seabed reinforcement. The project area will be cleared of unexploded ordnance and dredged to a depth of -15.5 m to allow access to the quay for bulk carriers arriving at the Port of Gdynia. The reconstruction includes the new rail-road system, technological systems, new quay equipment, a reinforced concrete pile cap structure and a receiving hopper. The existing flyovers will be extended and the transhipment stations handling vessels will be relocated. The general contractor has 22 months to complete the entire contract but will be commissioning the first section of the project after just 16 months.
