Zarząd Morskiego Portu Gdynia SA
Alteration of the Indyjskie Quay over a length of approximately 540 m, consisting primarily of widening it by 6 m.
The new quay wall was constructed using anchored steel sheet piles and pipe piles. The investment project included, among others, the dismantling of the quay’s hydrotechnical equipment, the reinforced concrete cap, the railway tracks, and the bottom reinforcement.
The area covered by the investment project was cleared of unexploded ordnance and dredged to an elevation of -15.5 m to enable access to the quay for bulk carriers arriving at the Port of Gdynia.
The alteration included the construction of a rail and road system, process systems, new elements of quay equipment, the structure of a reinforced concrete cap and a receiving hopper.
Existing flyovers were extended and transhipment bays serving ships were relocated.
The general contractor completed the entire contract within 22 months, with the first section of the investment project being put into operation after just 16 months.
