Completed
The investment project is one of the flagship projects implemented by the Port of Szczecin. Its aim was to obtain a qualitatively and quantitatively increased potential for general cargo transshipment through the construction of a new Norweskie Quay (constituting an extension of the existing Fińskie Quay, serving as a container terminal) and the modernization of the existing Czeskie and Słowackie Quays, together with the modernization of the technical infrastructure in the immediate hinterland of the quays and their adaptation to a technical depth of 12.5 m.
Moreover, to protect the shore of Ostrów Grabowski and to provide for the future extension of the Norweskie Quay, an embankment with capping approximately 600 m long (future name – Duńskie Quay) was constructed as part of this project.
Currently, the Czeskie and Słowackie Quays are the most intensively used general cargo quays in the Port of Szczecin, and the completed investment has ensured that their parameters are adapted to handle the largest vessels able to enter the port following the modernization of the Świnoujście–Szczecin fairway to a depth of 12.5 m.
