PGZ Naval Shipyard
The investment includes the construction of new facilities and the redevelopment of existing infrastructure. As the investor points out, the investment is necessary for the implementation of the “MIECZNIK,” Programme and will significantly increase the production capacity of PGZ Naval Shipyard.
The most important part of this investment is the construction of a new hall for the integration of the hulls of the three state-of-the-art frigates for the Polish Navy being built under the Miecznik Programme. According to the project, the development area will be close to 6,000 m2. The height of the hall – 43 m (and even 46 m including the roof-mounted ventilation unit) – will make it the tallest hall in the Polish shipbuilding industry and one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
In addition, a production hall will be built to house all of the shipyard's outfitting departments (the development area is almost 5,000 m2). The consortium is also responsible for the extension and reconstruction of the quay, storage yards and internal roads, as well as the modernisation of the technical infrastructure at the PGZ Naval Shipyard.
The general contractor has 67 weeks from the date of signing the contract to complete all the work. The work will be completed in June 2024.
