The investment consisted of two phases.

The first, completed in November 2017, consisted of the comprehensive construction of the new building, which houses the Hospital Rescue Ward on the ground floor; and on the first floor, the technical area (main switchboard, thermal node, fan room, UPS room, server room) and temporary facilities of the operating theatre, which were rebuilt in the second stage of works. Another – the second floor – is an operating theatre with six operating theatres and one hybrid theatre. On the roof, air handling units serving the operating theatre and a chilled water unit providing refrigerant for the entire building were created.

An elevated helipad for LPR helicopters was created on the top floor. In addition to the construction of the new building (stage one completed in November 2017), under the agreement signed, NDI carried out the reconstruction of the second floor of the existing building of the Specialist Multi-profile Hospital.

The completion of the investment allowed for the creation of modern conditions for the work of the operating teams and the provision of immediate comprehensive assistance to accident victims who, thanks to the work of the Air Rescue Service, reach the GCM from the Upper Silesian region.
