The committee chaired by Rear Admiral Prof. Tomasz Szubrycht Rector-Commanding Officer of the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia awarded NDI with HIPPOCAMPUS for a reliable and credible contractor. NDI was awarded for the “Construction of a comprehensive sports centre of the Polish Naval Academy – implementation of the second stage involving the construction of an indoor swimming pool with facilities at the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia”

‘Thank you for the award, it is a great honour for us,’ said NDI President Małgorzata Winiarek-Gajewska. This project was special because we performed it for the Polish Naval Academy. An interesting challenge was to construct, in addition to the standard swimming pool, also a specialised swimming pool for divers with a movable bottom.’
In July, NDI completed and handed over to the investor, i.e. the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia, an eight-lane swimming pool and a diving pool. The pools were officially opened during the inauguration of the academic year at the Academy.

The inauguration was attended by, among others, Tomasz Zdzikot – Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defence, Pomeranian parliamentarians, local government officials, representatives of the clergy with Archbishop Sławoj Leszek Głódź, representatives of universities and students.
The investment carried out by NDI is a 25m long 8-lane indoor swimming pool and a multi-functional training pool with a movable bottom. A new hall was also built with sanitary facilities and rooms for instructors as well as wellness rooms.

Parameters of the swimming pool are dimensions of 21×25 m in the plan view with a variable depth of 1.8 – 2.4 m with a bypass from four sides and spectator seating, and of the training pool – a basin of 8×15 m with adjustable depth from 0 to 4.5 m. The swimming pool will not only be open to students, it will be open to anyone interested.
