The Project pursued under the „design and build” formula, scheduled for 22 months.
The purpose of the project was to increase the train travelling speed from the current 50 km/h to 80-100 km/h.
The investment comprised revitalisation of ca 40 km of railway line No. 207 between Chełmża and Grudziądz, and overhaul of the line-related infrastructure. The construction works involved e.g. full replacement of the track rails over the distance of ca 38 km, modernisation of 38 crossings and 10 platforms, plus repair of 56 culverts.
The line was fitted with the railway traffic control installations, some crossings will be given half-way barriers. Traffic controls, telecommunication devices, and power installations (feed lines, lighting, and cross-over electric heating installations) will be replaced at the stations.
The investment in the section from Chełmża to Grudziądz improved the efficiency of the connections within the voivodship and its accessibility to external transport.
